Starts with a fresh face...

YSL Touche Eclat, Anastasia Brow Duo, Stila Illuminating Powder Foundation, Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof, Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow

Monday mornings are notoriously hectic for me. So when I've hit the snooze button a few too many times, I rely on a few trusted products to help me look (and feel) more awake. As the saying goes, "fake it 'til you make it", right?

1.
Yves Saint Laurent Touch Eclat (available here): A few dabs blended beneath the eyes, on the bridge of the nose, and cheekbones are all that are needed to add brightness to the face.

2.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Duo (available here): The ultimate secret for those not gifted with naturally luscious brows. This fine powder is perfectly natural looking when applied with Anastasia's angled spooley brush.

3.
Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof eyeliner (available here): Long-lasting and perfectly versatile, a thin line works best for day, while a thick one adds more drama for nights out.

4.
Stila Illuminating Powder Foundation (available here): I've been a devoted fan of this for almost decade. This sheer powder complete with SPF literally makes the skin glow and creates a smooth, even look.

5.
Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow (available here): rich pigment and long-lasting colour make this palette another go-to product. My favourite is "Earth Reflections" which is a great combo of browns and champagnes. I also lightly dab and blend two spots of the champagne colour right at the inner corners of the eye to further to create a more "awake" eye.

Wishlist: Yves Saint Laurent Arty Ring

YSL Arty Ring, Yves Saint Laurent Arty, holiday outfits, Net-a-porter

A few posts ago I talked about dress-shopping for the upcoming holiday season. But, should a new frock not be a line item in your budget, how about sprucing up an existing one with statement jewellery instead?

I recently mourned the final end of a tried-tested-and-true little black dress. It was over thirteen years old (yes you read that right) and it's just not worth the money to have it repaired. Its clean lines and simple strapless style allowed this classic and eternally chic dress to be reinvented dozens of times. In fact, if I calculated cost-per-wear, I'd likely be in the pennies. For each event that I wore this dress to, I ensured that my accessories were different and where possible my hair style as well. Now that I'm shopping for a new staple LBD for my wardrobe, I'm also considering different ways to wear it.

The YSL Arty ring has been on my radar for some time. But being as indecisive as I am I've never been able to commit to one style of this iconic piece. With the holidays coming up, maybe Santa will surprise me with one? I'm not picky - any one will do.

Starts with Inspiration: Red Handbags

I really can't get enough of fire engine-hued bags right now. Here are my top 3 favourite red handbags of the moment.

-1-

My newest obsession is the Fendi 2Jours. You can't miss all the celebs who are carrying this right now, and the lucky ones even have the tag monogrammed! What I love most is its simplicity and subtle logo. No big monograms here! And the smooth leather? Delicious!

The leather on the Yves St. Laurent Cabas Chyc Tote looks so supple and durable. I'm loving the "Y" flap and the zipped closure - you can't deny practicality! This is such a great balance between weekend and work. A definite workhorse for sure.

I've always stood firmly by the fact that no one makes a red quite as exquisite as Prada. The Saffiano Lux Tote has been on my list for quite some time and this red is truly what makes me love Prada so much. The Saffiano leather is also super durable, perfect for our cold and wet Toronto winters.

Happy Wednesday! Hope it's lovely wherever you are!
